Suncorp Bank Is Becoming ANZ: What Customers Need to Know

Suncorp Bank customers are expected to move to ANZ by June 2027. Find out what the transition means for your accounts, home loans and banking features, and why now could be a good time to review your mortgage options.

Suncorp Bank has announced that its customers’ accounts and products will move to ANZ during 2027, following ANZ’s acquisition of Suncorp Bank in July 2024.

According to ANZ, customers are expected to move across to ANZ’s banking systems, services and digital platforms by June 2027.

What is changing?

For now, nothing changes about how Suncorp Bank customers manage their banking. Customers do not need to take any immediate action and will receive information from Suncorp Bank and ANZ before their accounts and products move.

Customers cannot delay or opt out of the planned move. Suncorp Bank has also advised that some product terms and features may need to change to align with a similar ANZ product. Customers will receive detailed information if changes apply to their accounts or loans.

During the transition, it is important to:

  • Keep your contact details updated with Suncorp Bank
  • Read all official correspondence from Suncorp Bank and ANZ
  • Check which loan features are important to you
  • Remain alert to scams relating to the transition

Suncorp Bank and ANZ will never ask customers to provide passwords or PINs, move money to keep it safe, or click a link in an email or text message to log in to their account.

Is it time to review your home loan?

Although there is no requirement to refinance, a significant change like this can be a timely reminder to check whether your current home loan still suits your needs.

A home loan review can help you compare your current interest rate, repayments, fees and loan features against other suitable options. It can also identify whether refinancing may offer a genuine benefit once any discharge fees, establishment costs and other switching expenses are considered.

Refinancing will not be the right option for everyone. In some cases, your existing loan may remain competitive and appropriate for your circumstances. The purpose of a review is simply to understand your position and make an informed decision.
